# Objects, claims, and relationships

An object keeps its identity while its name, status, and relationships change. Read those changes with their sources and dates.

## Do not overwrite the object with its latest description

A real-world object has a stable identity boundary. Names, roles, locations, and states are time-bearing claims linked to that object.

## Relationships carry time and evidence

- Who or what asserted the relationship
- The period for which it is claimed to be valid
- When it was observed
- Evidence that supports or contradicts it
- Whether it was corrected or withdrawn
